The Coast Guard Maasin has secured the grounded Ro-Ro vessel M/V Ocean King II by applying around it the oil spill boom.

The P18M Legislative building, which is done in a phase by phase style of construction, is estimated to be finished before July 2009, in time for the upcoming 49th anniversary celebration of the province of Southern Leyte.
