The commentary of Ricardo Ma. Nolasco, PhD ?Pilipino, Filipino, Tagalog? published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer (Nov.15, 2008) implied that the evolution that a chosen national language like Tagalog has undergone is only in name but not in its element or substance. From Pilipino, the name use in school as a subject, and Filipino as citizenship, then Filipino as both a subject and citizenship. And lastly Tagalog as the dominating base being chosen as the national language.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has released the November 2008 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) result. Among the 88,649 nurses who took the exam, 19 examinees were product of the College of Maasin. Among those who took the exam nationwide, 39,455 examinees passed which is 44.51%. And those coming from College of Maasin, only 4 of them failed.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) officially released the September 28, 2008 Licensure Examination for Teachers last Saturday, November 15, 2008.
Among the 58,471 Elementary Teachers who took the LET, only 17,816 Elementary Teachers passed the exam which is 30.47%. There are 110 examinees who came from the schools here in Maasin City, but only 40 of them passed the examination. The College of Maasin has 10 examinees but only 1 passed which is 10%.
