The three victims were identified as Angela Balagot Serdan, 74 years old, married; Rosario Orais Espina, 67 years old, married; and Jennifer A. Gora, 16 years old, a first year BSBA SJC student. All of them were residents of Brgy. Ibarra.

Espina suffered a right arm fractured bone between the elbow and the shoulder. Her left arm is heavily injured. She has a swollen right leg with hematoma on both legs. Serdan sustained a fractured right arm. While the young Gora suffered a fractured right leg and right arm injury. A hematoma appeared on her left eye.

In an interview with Edna Serdan-Sabalo, 44 years old, married, daughter of Serdan, disclosed that her mother and the 2 other victims were walking towards their respective residences after attending the first opening salvo of the Misa-Novena at the church in the aforesaid barangay.

Sabalo informed that right after the one-hour long Misa-Novena there was a fireworks display at the church?s ground for less than thirty minutes. Later, the 3 victims went out the church compound and started walking towards their homes.

In another interview with Espina, she disclosed that before they could reached their respective dwellings, a fast-running motorcycle suddenly sideswept the three of them resulting to their various injuries.

The motorcycle driver was identified by the police investigator, who found him to be drunk, as Marlon Truba, 24 years old, single, resident of Monte Cueva.

He sustained strained muscles/ veins on his right leg, which caused him to limp, but no fractured bone. A rider, the suspect?s younger brother, was identified as Gilbert Truba, 19 years old, single.He has slight bruises.

Espina, quoting a witness? statement from a government retiree Ching ABot,who is a friend, revealed that earlier, the liquor-influenced driver?s motorcycle staggered intermittently as it rushed the highway before she and her 2 other companions were hit.

The 3 victims were rushed to the Salvacion Oppus-Y?iguez Memorial Provincial Hospital (SOYMPH) by some concerned persons in their barangay for emergency treatment.

Furthermore, it was learned that the victims, their relatives and the suspect have agreed for an amicable settlement of the case to avoid litigation. However, if the suspect would not take responsibility of his obligation to his victims for their medical treatment, one of the victims said, they will file a case against him in court.
