Sooner or later Baybay will boom if the officials will render their service as public servant not a public corrupt officials.... Dominant clans of baybay... pls. set a legacy to your fellow baybayanons...... For one, Maasin's population is only around 80 thousand more or less, Catbalogan's population is even bigger, Catbalogan's population this year is more than 90 thousand and Catbalogan looks more urban that Maasin, the new cityhood law requires a municipality to have a population of at least 150,000. Second, the new law requires a municipality to have at least 100 square kilometers of contagious area(meaning the urban area or downtown) Maasin's urban area is only more than 1 square kilometer. And third, the new law requires a 100M INTERNALLY-GENERATED INCOME, meaning it doesn't include the IRA.
