Petron To Pay Oil Leak Damages

18 July 2010 No Comment

Divers of the Philippine coast guard discovered two sources of oil leaking the underwater pipe of Petron Depot in Rosario, Cavite. The leak was caused by the anchor of a ship hit by the strong winds of Typhoon Basyang few days ago.

During the inspection done by the Philippine Coast Guard divers, they found a pipe-cut of about 1-foot long and a broken chain connected to an anchor. Authorities believed that the anchor belong to M/T Baliwag owned by Herma Shipping.

To answer the demand of the activists – fishermen, an authority of Petron said that Petron will pay the legitimate damages brought by the oil leak.
